Here are the key stats you need to know about using content marketing as a lead generation strategy.

Matt Moran over at Startup Bonsai published a new report on the state of lead gen and here are their findings on how you can use content marketing as a lead generation strategy. Content marketing involves publishing valuable content to attract website visits and leads. It’s one of the most important inbound marketing channels. In fact content marketing is found to generate three times more leads compared to inbound marketing at less than half the cost.

According to figures from Demand Metric, content marketing is thrice as effective at generating leads, than outbound marketing strategies, while costing a whopping 62 percent less. By focusing your lead generation efforts on creating and promoting great content as opposed to directly reaching out to your customers, your budget will stretch further and you’ll see more leads. Not only that, you’ll also be building brand loyalty as you’re giving your customers something for free and making them feel like a partner as opposed to a sales target. 80% of B2B companies are currently using content marketing for lead generation. Marketers that use blogs to generate traffic are 13 times more likely to generate a positive ROI.

So if you’re not investing in a company blog, now is the time to start one. And to get the most out of your content marketing efforts, make sure that any blog post you publish has an attention grabbing headline. Effective headlines can boost clicks and therefore page traffic by as much as five hundred percent. Some studies show that numbers and numeric figures are an important component of effective headlines, so use them whenever it’s suitable. And as I’ve mentioned in some of my past videos, including a video in all of your blog posts can help boost traffic and engagement at the same time.

Using tools like Lumen5, you can turn your blog post into a video and then embed that video back on your blog post. You can find even more stats over at Startup Bonsai, but I hope you found this information helpful and I’ll see you in the next video.
