Today, I want to share with you 3 ideas that can help you create more video content, starting today.

The first idea is to start using video to communicate your product updates and feature releases. So many companies rely on emails and newsletters, and really they’re just bullet points of features that you’re shipping.

But the real story is to get on camera and tell the story of why you’re building what you’re building. Instead of listing out a bunch of features, tell the story of why it matters. What are you trying to achieve with this product update? What kind of problems are you trying to solve? And if you start to do your product updates in video format, I promise you you’ll get much more engagement and uptake on new features that you’re shipping.

The second idea is to start using more video in your recruitment process. All the job postings we see are just long pages of texts, bullet points of the skills that you need. It’s kind of boring. But we’re all out here, trying to differentiate ourselves and our employer brand, we’re trying to attract the best talent.

There’s no better way to do that than to get on camera and pitch the position. Every job post should have a hiring manager creating a video just like this one here, talking about why the job matters, who they’re looking for and why someone should apply. As a candidate, would you rather read a wall of text? Or would you rather watch a video of a hiring manager pitching you the job?

The third idea I have for you today is to create FAQ videos. No matter what business you’re in, I’m sure you have frequently asked questions. instead of just having a long FAQ list on your website, make it engaging, create videos for each of those questions. Due to the nature of frequently asked questions, you know, these are questions that your customers care about and if they care about getting the answers, then you owe it to them to deliver that answer in an engaging way.

That’s all I’ve got for you today. Those are three ideas for helping you create more video content, starting today. I’ll be back with more tips next time and I’ll see you in the next video.
