Is it really the holidays without a good debate over whether Die Hard counts as a Christmas movie? We don’t think so. Just like we don’t think there’s a definitive holiday song; it’s all about personal flair and taste.

This year, we’ve delved into the holiday hearts of our fellow Lumen5ers to discover their festive favourites. From movie preferences to playlists and mouthwatering treats, we’ve got it all covered. So grab a cup of cocoa, cozy up, and let us take you on a journey through our holiday wonderland. ❄️☕

Kat, what is your favourite holiday movie?

Kat: Home Alone is of course a classic, but it’s a classic for a reason. It’s the heartwarming message beneath the chaos. The film reminds me a lot about the magic you feel during Christmas as a kid that you can’t help but be a little nostalgic for when you get older. The sequel is also just as good, arguably even a little better? Merry Christmas ya filthy animals!

Joel, what is your favourite holiday song?

Joel: The Christmas Song (Merry Christmas To You). But I specifically like the Nat King Cole version. My dad loved that song and he plays it all the time during the holiday season. It’s like having a warm hug from the past every time I hear it. 🤗

Other Lumen5ers couldn’t pick just one song. And so for those who also can’t pick one song, here are some handpicked playlists to get you grooving 🎶:

Azadeh, what is your favourite food during the holiday season?

Azadeh: Oh no brainer – PC Candy Cane Chocolate Fudge Crackle ice cream. It’s a holiday miracle in a tub. The swirls of peppermint goodness mixed with velvety ice cream create a flavour explosion that screams holidays – like a frozen celebration in your mouth.

Mike, what is your favourite holiday activity?

Getting out and enjoying the snow with friends & family is one thing I look forward to during the holidays. The Rockies offer top-notch snow and those breathtaking blue sky days. But skiing the Sea to Sky is pretty special, getting to see the mountains in one direction and the ocean in the other is quite spectacular – magical even! ✨

Melissa, where is your favourite holiday travel spot?

Melissa: Tofino is our go-to holiday escape. The last few Christmases have been spent at Ocean Village with Erik and Tilley. It’s a serene getaway that adds a touch of magic to our festive season.

So, whether you’re carving through the snowy slopes, enjoying a quiet beach retreat, or savouring a scoop of Candy Cane ice cream, we’re right there with you, soaking in the festive spirit. Here’s to a season filled with laughter, love, and the enchantment of the holidays. 🌟❤️
