I’m going to take our blog, ironically titled, Making Marketing Videos in Less Time, and see how many ways I can turn it into a video – each with a different script and tone – just to truly test how Lumen5’s script spin-offs are a testament to how many times you can get a single message across without sounding repetitive.
Video #1 – Making Marketing Videos in Less Time (OG version)
If you aren’t already familiar with Lumen5’s AI Script Composer, we talk about it a lot. This is where the magic begins.
Before getting to your video, we need a little from you first. I used the link to our blog to input all the content and images from the page, but the same can be done with bullet points to outline an idea, PDFs, Doc.x files, and PowerPoint.
For this video, I didn’t do much tweaking to the script, wanting it to capture the overall message taken from the blog – even though I was given several different options (we’ll test those later 😁). The same goes for editing script and choosing an AI voice; I chose Freya, but there are 40+ more others to choose from.
By the way, this process was only 42 seconds.
All there’s left to do is press convert to video!
Depending on the media recommendations and your personal vision, most of the time spent on your Lumen5 video will be done in the editor. This is where you can pick between scene designs, edit text, customize colors, add media and music, and more. I took some liberties to making this video how I really wanted it, which took about 5 minutes.

Video #2 – Making Marketing Videos in Less Time (Short version)
When I went to repurpose this blog again, I did a different spin. Firstly, I added an image that wasn’t included in the initial blog but something I wanted to include the video. (You can always do this later in editor, but when you know, you know – you can add any additional photos you have right away.)
To settle on my script, I looked through the script spin-offs and selected “Lumen5 PDF to Video Tool” because it would give me a different angle to promote the blog. I also changed the duration of the script from 1 minute to 30 seconds, and gave specific instructions of what I wanted to the script to do – sound friendly and engaging.
This time in the editor, I wanted to change the background music to match the tone of the script – something bright and playful. Due to the short nature of the video, I also made a vertical 9:16 version which was quickly accomplished in just a few clicked. All done in under 2 minutes!

Video #3 – Making Marketing Videos in Less Time (Idea-to-Video Version)
Idea-to-video may sound hard to believe, but it’s extremely effective. Have you ever tried idea-to-video-to-blog? Because that’s another wonderful revelation.
This time, I decided to take the main bullet points from the blog out of curiousity, to see the kind of script Lumen5 would create for me. This is a great way if you want to promote a blog for the second time after the first post dies down, but you want it to feel new.
In Script Composer, I was pretty pleased with the script Lumen5 created. In comparison to the first script, this one was less text heavy. I adjusted the tone to “relaxed” and increased the video length by 20 seconds to get the most out of the subject matter, and the script was good to go. With creating the outline and adjusting the script length, I spent about 5 minutes in Script Composer.
I didn’t want to change too much in the editor this time. I swapped out some stock media scenes for my own uploaded media and added animated captions to make the video more dynamic.
The few changes I made only took a minute, by the way 🤭
